Terry Muirheid was born on May 18, 1949, in Miami, Florida, and raised in Coral Gables. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech in 1972, where the drawing-focused curriculum reignited his love for art.
In 1971, Terry studied in Cortona, Italy, as part of the University System of Georgia’s Summer Program, deepening his artistic interests. After graduating, he pursued a Master’s in Fine Arts at Georgia State University and held several solo art shows at Georgia Tech during the 1970s. He also designed large public murals alongside his architectural work.
As a registered architect in Georgia for over 50 years, Terry has specialized in residential design, including new builds and remodels. Throughout his career, he continued creating pen-and-ink drawings, often during evenings and travels. In 2003, he shifted focus to digital photography and began working with Adobe Photoshop.
Terry initially produced art calendars in the 1970s and revived the tradition in 2010, creating over 80 unique designs shared with clients and friends. Since 2020, he’s focused more on digital and traditional art, sharing over 700 pieces on Instagram. His solo exhibit, PAST AND PRESENT – FINDING FOCUS, was featured at the Gadsden Museum of Art in early 2025.
